FONCID GEL: Magaldrate and Simethicone Oral Suspension contains not less than 90.0 percent and not more than 110.0 percent of the labeled amount of Magaldrate [Al5Mg10(OH)31(SO4)2], and an amount of polydimethylsiloxane [–(CH3)2SiO–]n that is not less than 85.0 percent and not more than 115.0 percent of the labeled amount of simethicone
Uses of Magaldrate and Simethicone Oral Suspension USP:
It is used to ease too much gas in the stomach. It is also used in ulcer symptoms in the stomach.
It is used to treat heartburn and upset stomachs. This medication is very helpful in stomach ulcers, this is the primary repairing gel on the ulcer.
DRUG INTERACTIONS OF FONCID GEL :
Magaldrate may negatively interact with drugs like tetracyclines, benzodiazepines, and indomethacin. High doses or prolonged usage may lead to an increment of defecation and a reduction in feces consistency. In some cases it can alter the functionality of the gastrointestinal tract, occasionally provoking constipation or diarrhea.
How magaldrate & simethicone work
This Antacid GEL is a combination of two medicines: Magaldrate and Simethicone. Magaldrate is an inorganic salt that neutralizes the excess acid in the stomach. Simethicone is an antifoaming medicine that disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.
SIDE EFFECTS OF FONCID GEL:
Generally, the Antacid gel has no side effects, but rarely 1 out of 10000 people may face a Chalky taste, Diarrhea & Constipation problems.
