IMPORTANCE OF SULBACTAM WITH CEFTRIAXONE
As the use of β-lactamase increased, they started to provide resistance to bacteria against cephalosporins, in the same way, Ceftriaxone (a third-generation cephalosporin) also lost ineffectiveness against bacteria, then the combination of Ceftriaxone with sulbactam(a β-lactamase inhibitor) showed better results in clinical practices.
The combination is found very helpful in the possibility of developing resistance in Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus Vulgaris, Escherichia coli, and Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus type bacteria.
